Swing Set

The Swing Set is an obstacle, used as the fifth and final obstacle in the Qualifier of Season 2. It was interchanged with the Fender Bender as the second post-Big Balls obstacle throughout the season.

It is two swings above the water that contestants must cross to reach the finish platform. They must attempt this obstacle quickly as the swings lose momentum over time. In some episodes, there was only one swing with different objects that must be used to reach it.

Season 2's Slippery Swing Set (with foam)

In episode 1, the first swing had a slippery pad, and the second swing was covered in foam.

In episode 9, both swings had slippery pads.

Sidewalk Swing Set (Episode 3): A zip-line that contestants must use to swing across the water and through a curtain, land on a foamy swing, and jump to the finish platform.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Movie Set: Tropical Bridge and Icy Swing Set (Episode 6): Two foamy swings above the water that contestants must cross to reach the finish platform.

Zip-line Swing Set (Episode 7): A zip-line that contestants must use to swing across the water, land on the swing, and jump to the finish platform.

Trapeze Swing Set (Episode 11): A trapeze bar that contestants must use to swing across the water, land on the swing, and jump to the finish platform.

Swinging Cereal Killer (Episode 13): Two swings filled with milk and cereal that contestants must cross to reach the finish platform.

Onion Ring Swing (Episode 16): An onion ring that contestants must use to swing across the water, land on a ketchup-covered swing, and jump to a mustard-covered hotdog on the finish platform.

Only five contestants cleared this obstacle with two of them from the same episode:

Coincidentally, two of them later went on to win their respective episodes.

It was replaced by both the Fling Set and the Shape Shifter in the next season.

Later, a similar obstacle named the Spring Fling/Mood Swing appeared as the third obstacle in the Qualifier of Season 4’s Spring Wipeout and Summer Wipeout, being interchanged with the Jiggle-ator as the first post-Big Balls obstacle.

A swing appeared as part of the Shape Shifter during episodes 11 and 13 of Season 3.

The only contestant who cleared this obstacle with the swing is Frank Beasley from episode 11 (who later won that episode).
