Swing Blades

The Swing Blades are an obstacle, used as the second obstacle in the Summer Wipeout Zone of Season 5, replacing the Psychedelic Snow Globe from Winter. It was interchanged with Commakaze throughout the rest of the season.

It is a combination of the Fling Set (which was used as the fifth and final obstacle in the Qualifier of Season 3, being interchanged with the Shape Shifter) and the Blades of Fury (which was used as the second obstacle in the Gauntlet and the fifth obstacle overall in the Wipeout Zone during episodes 6 and 16 of Season 2, being paired with the Piston Punch and the Drop Bridge and interchanged with the Turntable, and all of Season 3, being paired with the Crankshaft and the Beater Totter).

It is two sets of sweeper swings and blades that contestants must cross to get to the other side. There is a small safe zone in between both sets, so they can time their runs past the swings and jumps through the blades.

Only two contestants cleared this obstacle on their first attempt, both from the same episode:

David Rios (S5E11; who later won that episode)

It was replaced by both Blockbuster and Throw-tisserie in the next season.
