He made it past the qualifier in a fast time, placed 2nd on the Sweeper. On the Rocket, his headband blindfolded him in the middle of the ride, causing him to buck off after the second meteor shower launch. He stayed on for 46 seconds, and was on the verge of being eliminated until Matt Ordway's time fared worse than his, meaning Shane placed 4th overall and advanced to the Wipeout Zone. He later timed out on the Wipeout Zone attempting to beat Chuck Trout's time.
