Season 2's Scary-Go-Round
The Scary-Go-Round is an obstacle, used as the third obstacle in the Wipeout Zone of Season 2, replacing the Spinner from the previous season. It was interchanged with both the Climbing Wall and the Crazy Sweeper throughout the season.
It is a similar obstacle to King of the Mountain (which was used as the second round in the same season, being interchanged with the Sweeper).
It is a pair of bridges circling in opposite directions. Contestants must cross the bottom plank while avoiding the sweeper arm, head up the stairs in the middle, then make it across the top arm to the other side.
It had a few variations:
Season 2’s Scary-Go-Round (with three teeth)
Season 2’s Scary-Go-Round (with one tooth)
- In episode 6, there were three teeth, while in episode 16, there was just one tooth.
Season 2’s Scary-Go-Round (with curtain)
- In episode 7, there was a curtain contestants had to jump through.
Season 2’s Scary-Go-Round (with two stairways)
Season 2’s Scary-Go-Round (with two stairways and two wrecking balls)
- In episodes 9 and 11, four of the six stairways were blocked, while in the latter episode, there were two wrecking balls contestants had to jump past.
Most contestants lost valuable time due to either losing their footing on the bottom plank or failing to time their jump off the top arm right, leading them to either quit their runs or time out, which is what happened to Michelle Avedissian, Devon Berry, Andrew Nienu, Steven Lara, Robert Davis, Mark Jones, and William Mahoney in episodes 1, 3, 6, 11, 13, and 16 respectively.
Only six contestants cleared this obstacle on their first attempt with two of them from two episodes:
- Melia Quiray (S2E9)
- Craig Goettsche (S2E9)
- Chris Kinyon (S2E11)
- Tyler Rowley (S2E13)
- Shane Butler (S2E13)
- Eric Agrelius (S2E16)
Coincidentally, four of them later won their respective episodes.
It was replaced by both the Triple Threat and the Sinistairs in the next season.
