The Leap of Faith is a name given to two different obstacles: one used in the Qualifier of Season 1 and another used in the Wipeout Zone of Season 8 (TBS Season 1).

Season 1’s Leap of Faith

The first version of the Leap of Faith appeared as the fourth and final obstacle in the Qualifier during the pilot episode of Season 1.

Contestants must hold onto a rope, run down a slanted curved runway, swing across the water, and land on the finish platform. Failing that, they would instead climb up the steps installed on the side.

Only two contestants cleared this obstacle:

It was replaced by the Cookie Cutter Swing in the first episode when the show was greenlit for a full season.

Later, a similar obstacle named the Tether Beater appeared as the first obstacle in the Qualifier during episode 11 of Season 6.

Season 8[]

The second version of the Leap of Faith appeared as the third obstacle in the Wipeout Zone of Season 8 (TBS Season 1), replacing Hell's Carousel from the previous season.

It is a rotating hammerhead-shaped spinner that contestants must hop onto from high above and jump onto the narrow platform on the other side.

A total of fifteen contestants cleared this obstacle on their first attempt with two of them from three episodes.

Coincidentally, six of them later won their respective episodes.

It was replaced by G-Force in the next season.
