Season 3’s Crankshaft
The Crankshaft is an obstacle, first used as the first obstacle in the Gauntlet and the fourth obstacle overall in the Wipeout Zone of Season 3, replacing the Piston Punch from the previous season. It was paired with the Blades of Fury and the Beater Totter in this configuration, being interchanged with the Spiked Whackers throughout the season.
It is a narrow walkway next to a rotating square wave-shaped beam with four segments. Contestants must cross the walkway and time their moves carefully to avoid the beam.
In the next season, this obstacle, along with the rest of the Gauntlet and the Rib Rage, was replaced by the Sinister Snowflakes.

Season 4’s Crankshaft (Winter)

Season 4’s Crankshaft (Spring)
The Crankshaft returned as the fourth obstacle in Winter Blunder Land of Season 4. It was exactly the same, but the walkway slides back and forth to make it harder.

Season 4's Total Carnage (featuring the Crankshaft)
It later appeared as part of Total Carnage. This time, the beam only had three segments, each angled 120° apart instead of 180° from the original. Since there was a rule that disallows going underneath with the fact that the beam moves towards the contestants instead of being stationary, jumping over became mandatory.
