Catapult

The Catapult is an obstacle, used as the first obstacle in the Wipeout Zone of Seasons 2 and 3, replacing Killer Surf from the previous season. It was interchanged with the Aqua Launch and the Dreadmill Launch respectively in both seasons.

Contestants lie back in a chair at the end of a long arm, and on the last second of the countdown, it flings them through the air into the water below.

It had a few variations in Season 3:

In episode 4, white dust was launched with the contestants.

In episode 5, confetti was blasted as the contestants were launched.

Season 3’s Catapult (with colored balls)

In episode 17, colored balls were launched with the contestants.

It was replaced by the Bobsled Blastoff in Season 4's Winter Wipeout.
